Tips from CPL Lim

For such vandalism cases that happen:
  • inform town council and HDB to install CCTV at said vicinity
  • inform police to frequent visit/patrol to said vacinity
  • inform neighbours to look out for suspicious characters
  • if culprit was to be apprehend/ detain do not take matters into own hand and call for police.

Foreword from CPL Lim

All these posters are being placed everywhere in the neighbourhood. It is to remind us, "Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime". We should all play a part in making our home and our neighbour hood save and Crime-Free. So keep a look out! Be safe!

Ms Poh Hu Li
A resident staying at block 4 witnessed a schoolboy being beaten up by a gang of 4 older boys last week.

Introduction

Crime rates in your neighbourhood (Vic Street) are on the rise, and many of your neighbours are complaining to the police about issues such as vandalism, robberies, and shop-lifting.

Besides the issue of crimes in Vic Street, the police is also having a challenge to create public awareness about the measures implemented in the neighbourhood (especially at Vic Street MRT station) to detect and prevent terrorism.

During one of the MP meet-the-people session, a resident suggested to start a crime and terrorism awareness initiative. This initiative will help everyone:

  • · To be alert about the current crime situation.
  • · To get advice on how to prevent and stop crime.
  • · To contribute and report on crimes happening in their immediate vicinity.
  • · To get updates of police actions.
  • · To be aware of the actions required to fight terrorism.
